The Managing Director of Med-View Airlines, Muneer Bankole, says resilience and faith in God have defined his journey within Nigeria’s aviation industry.
Bankole spoke on Wednesday in Lagos during the launch of his biography, ‘Pathways, Pilgrimage and Destiny: The Biography of Alhaji Bankole Muneer.’
He urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith, patient and determined, saying the book chronicles a life built on resilience, integrity and trust in God.
Bankole explained that the four-year project was conceived to leave enduring lessons for younger generations on perseverance, sincerity and unwavering faith.
According to him, every person’s journey is ordained by God, while success comes through patience, commitment, and refusal to surrender to challenges.
“No matter the pressure or challenges you face, don’t give up. Be sincere to yourself, your family and your God,” he said.
He expressed gratitude for reaching the milestone and appreciated friends, associates, and well-wishers who attended the launch ceremony.
Bankole, an aviation entrepreneur and pilgrimage operator, described their presence as evidence of lasting relationships and divine grace throughout his life.
Author of the biography, Prof. Mobalanle Sotosan, disclosed that documenting Bankole’s life required four years of research, interviews, and rigorous fact-checking.
Sotosan said the publication was intentionally written as a factual historical account rather than a celebratory tribute to its subject.
She explained that preserving an authentic record for future generations remained a central objective throughout the writing and verification process.
The don said one dominant theme emerging from the research was Bankole’s unwavering faith, which shaped his personal and professional life.
According to her, the title symbolises life’s journey, spiritual growth and the belief that human efforts ultimately unfold according to God’s will.
Sotosan highlighted Bankole’s contributions to Nigeria’s aviation and pilgrimage sectors, describing discipline, resilience and responsibility as hallmarks of his achievements.
Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salako Oyedele, described the biography as an important contribution to preserving historical records.
She noted that while everyone has a story, only a few individuals document their experiences for posterity and future learning.
Oyedele commended Bankole for recording his life’s journey while alive to validate events and provide an accurate historical account.
She said the publication offered valuable lessons for entrepreneurs, policymakers and young professionals navigating personal and professional challenges.
The deputy governor praised Bankole’s pioneering contributions to private Hajj operations and Nigeria’s indigenous aviation industry.
She recalled his role in advancing Nigerian-owned airlines through his involvement with Virgin Nigeria and related aviation initiatives.
According to Oyedele, Bankole’s business journey reflects the realities of operating within Nigeria’s demanding and unpredictable business environment.
She said resilience, innovation and adaptability remained essential qualities for survival and growth in the country’s economic landscape.
The deputy governor urged Nigerians to support indigenous businesses, noting that many global brands began modestly before achieving international prominence.
She expressed confidence that the biography would inspire future generations to embrace integrity, resilience, service and purpose in business and public life.
