Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has dismissed reports linking Governor Ademola Adeleke’s convoy to a violent incident in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Davido described the reported attack as false, saying neither the governor nor his entourage was involved in the incident.

Reports had earlier emerged that gunmen attacked Adeleke’s convoy shortly after the governor visited the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji.

The award-winning artiste further stated that Governor Adeleke continues to enjoy widespread public support, dismissing claims that the reported violence was directed at the governor.

“Lies ! It was a fight outside the palace that had nothing to do with us ! The pple love excellency!” Davido wrote on X.

As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Government and security agencies had yet to issue an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
