Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2016 and 2020 elections in Ondo State, has resigned from the party.
Jegede, in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area of the state, said the resignation was with immediate effect.
The letter dated Aug. 7 was obtained on Thursday by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Akure.
“Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, effective immediately.
“I will be glad if you will kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter,” it read.
