The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command has reaffirmed commitment to partnering with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) towar corps members’ safety across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, Mr Fatai Tijani, gave the assurance during the familiarization visit by the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs Christiana Salmwang to the command’s headquarters, Ikeja, on Tuesday.
The visit focused on strengthening the existing relationship between the police command and NYSC and enhancing collaboration towards the safety and security of corps members deployed across the state.
Tijani appreciated the NYSC delegation for the visit and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining a strong partnership with the scheme.

He stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the police and NYSC to ensure that corps members carry out their national service in a safe and secure environment.
The commissioner assured the delegation that the command would continue to work closely with NYSC in addressing security concerns affecting corps members and protecting their welfare.
He reiterated the command’s readiness to sustain engagement with NYSC and other stakeholders to enhance public safety and provide a secured environment for national service.
Salmwang expressed NYSC’s willingness to strengthen collaboration with the police toward enhancing the safety and welfare of corps members serving in Lagos.
The engagement also aimed at deepening cooperation between both institutions to promote the safety and well-being of corps members during their service year.
