African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dino Melaye, has revealed that he has never asked God for money, cars or other material possessions, saying his primary prayer has always been for divine direction.
Melaye made the remarks while speaking about his wealth, insisting that he considers himself comfortable and contented rather than extremely wealthy.
According to the former lawmaker, legitimate wealth comes from God, stressing that he would not be criticising the government if his wealth had been acquired through corrupt means.
He also stated that he has never been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), or any other anti-corruption agency because he has never been involved in government contracts at either the federal or state level.
Melaye advised Nigerians seeking prosperity to look to God, saying his own approach has been to seek divine guidance rather than material possessions.
“I’ve never prayed to God to give me a car. I’ve never prayed to God Almighty to ask him to give me money. Never,” he said.
“My prayer to God always is, God, give me direction.”
