The refinery’s story appeared on Times Square’s digital billboards, putting the project in front of a global audience in one of the world’s most visited commercial districts.

“This is a moment that reflects the scale of our ambition and our continued commitment to building world-class African enterprises,” the company said. “Made in Nigeria. Built for the world.”

The appearance comes as the refinery’s initial public offering remains open on the Nigerian Exchange. The offer, which began on 14 September, closes on 13 October. The refinery is selling 4.1 billion shares at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares.

Dangote has marketed the offer as a “people’s IPO,” aiming to bring up to 10 million ordinary Nigerians onto the shareholder register. The refinery posted an after-tax profit of $1.82 billion in the first half of 2026.
