The Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities has condemned the alleged rape of a 20-year-old married woman with intellectual disability in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The woman, who is reportedly four months pregnant, was allegedly raped on September 9, 2026, at Ajegunle Street, Ore, by a 40-year-old married man identified as Tomiwa.
The Board Chairman of the Agency, Princess Folashade Arise, who disclosed this on Friday, September 18, said the incident was reported by a concerned elder in the community.
According to her, upon receiving the report, she contacted the Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force in Ore, ACP Femi Iwasoku, who subsequently directed the Divisional Police Officer of Ore Division to act on the matter.
She said the suspect was immediately apprehended following the police intervention.
