Popular Nigerian singer Dapo Oyebanjo, widely known as D’Banj, has presented three brand-new Sienna buses to lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi to support his 2027 bid for the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The vehicles were handed over to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday.
Olajengbesi revealed the development in a Facebook post on Friday, describing the donation as an unexpected gesture and a major show of support from the music star.
He explained that D’Banj had contacted him about two weeks earlier to request the details of the person handling his campaign branding.
According to Olajengbesi, he initially assumed the request was connected to D’Banj’s CREAM initiative, which focuses on supporting young creatives, and therefore shared the contact.
He said he was later shocked to receive three fully branded Sienna buses from the singer.
“It’s my token of support,” Olajengbesi quoted D’Banj as saying when he reached out to him after receiving the vehicles.
Olajengbesi expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a significant demonstration of support for his political ambition.
The development comes as Olajengbesi continues his bid to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in 2027.
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, had previously endorsed Olajengbesi’s ambition.
Olajengbesi served as spokesperson for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign during the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
He is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.
The politician, who clocked 40 in August, previously contested the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
