The President Bola Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement has suspended its campaign activities for one week following the death of Nigerian military personnel in an aircraft crash.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Mr Sunday Asuku, confirmed the suspension in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Asuku said the movement’s Grand Patron, Mr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, described the crash as a painful and monumental loss to the Armed Forces and the nation.
Ekpemupolo said the deceased officers paid the ultimate price in the line of duty while serving the country with courage, patriotism and commitment.
He expressed condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces, the Ondo State Government and people, as well as the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
The Grand Patron commended the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Navy, first responders and local residents for their efforts in the search and rescue operations.
He called on military authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the cause of the crash to prevent similar occurrences.
Ekpemupolo prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and for God to grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
He also prayed for continued protection for Nigerian troops serving on land, air and sea.
