The Kano State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged members to remain calm as controversy rages over the omission of governorship candidate Aminu Abdussalam-Gwarzo from the INEC list released Saturday.
Mr Yusif Fasaha, the party’s Public Relations Officer, made the call in a statement made available to the NAN in Kano.
“I want to assure you that as the PRO of the party, the problem is not from us.
“We have consulted the INEC, and they told us that the problem was from the computer, and they will rectify it.
“So, everybody should remain calm; from now to Monday, another list containing his name will be out,” he said.
He said that Abdussalam-Gwarzo had fulfilled all the requirements of the election, adding that “everything was done at the right time.”
“We have seen the list and will continue with consultation on the matter,” he said.
NAN observed that the list contained 17 gubernatorial candidates and their running mates from different political parties.
Gov Abba Yusuf’s name was in the list as APC candidate with his deputy, Murtala Sule-Garo.
Other parties cleared are the ADC, PDP, APGA, BP, AA, AAC, LP, ZLP, SDP, APM, NDP, PRP, APP, DLA, ADP.
