Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has announced the sequel to his hit Yoruba epic movie, Jagun Jagun, revealing that the new film will premiere on Netflix on December 4, 2026.
Adebayo shared a snippet of the upcoming movie on his X account on Sunday night, confirming the title as Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors.
Introducing the film, the actor wrote: “You all asked for it, here it is, guys!!”
He accompanied the announcement with a message hinting at the return of the warrior world that captured viewers’ attention in the first instalment.
“Even in his absence, his name remained a curse whispered behind closed doors.
“Some men are made by war. Others are the reason kingdoms learn to fear it,” he wrote
The announcement has raised expectations among fans of the original movie, which drew attention for its battle scenes, costumes and portrayal of power struggles in a traditional Yoruba setting.
Released in 2023, Jagun Jagun tells the story of Gbotija, a young warrior who joins the army of the feared warlord Ogundiji while seeking revenge for his father’s death. His arrival threatens the warlord’s grip on power and sets off a conflict involving ambition, betrayal and loyalty.
The film stars Adebayo alongside Lateef Adedimeji, Odunlade Adekola, Bukunmi Oluwasina and other Nollywood actors.
The sequel’s title, War of Warriors, suggests that the struggle for power and the legacy of the original characters will remain central to the new story.
Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix on December 4, 2026.
