The Magistrate, Hauwa Aboki, denied the defence counsel’s oral bail request.

Aboki said that the defendants must file a written application for bail.

The case was adjourned until Nov 2 for hearing.

The Prosecution Counsel, Charity Nwachukwu, said that the complainant, Mr Tonye West, reported the matter at the Wuye Camp police station on Oct 12.

Nwachukwu told the court that the defendants stole three inverter batteries, a generator battery, 25kg and 12kg gas cylinders, eight pieces of four litres of chemical, all valued at N36 million.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene the provisions of Sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
