Nestlé Nigeria Plc has appointed Mrs Toritseju Egbebi as Corporate Communications and Sustainability Manager, effective Nov. 1, following the retirement of Mrs Victoria Uwadoka.
The company disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
The company said Egbebi, who is currently Corporate Affairs Manager, has 18 years of experience in public relations and corporate communications across the technology, financial services and consumer goods sectors.
It said Egbebi had played key roles in strengthening its corporate reputation, public affairs and stakeholder engagement since joining the company.
“Through the Nestlé for Good platform, she has also helped promote awareness of the company’s investments in healthier nutrition, thriving communities and environmental sustainability.”
The company said Uwadoka, who spent 10 years with Nestlé Nigeria, contributed significantly to strengthening its reputation, stakeholder relationships and Creating Shared Value agenda.
It noted that her leadership advanced communications and sustainability initiatives in nutrition, youth empowerment, agriculture, water stewardship, environmental responsibility and community development.
“Uwadoka also championed employee engagement and helped communicate the company’s corporate and sustainability priorities to build understanding and trust.
“Beyond the company, she contributed to the development of Nigeria’s communications profession through industry leadership, advocacy and mentorship.”
Mr Wassim Elhusseini, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Nigeria, expressed appreciation to Uwadoka for her contributions to the company and the communications profession.
“Victoria has made an important contribution to Nestlé Nigeria over the past decade, and we are deeply grateful for the leadership, professionalism and commitment she has brought to our business and the communications profession.
“We wish her every success in this next chapter,” he said.
Elhusseini expressed confidence in Egbebi’s ability to strengthen the company’s communications and stakeholder engagement.
“As Toju takes on this responsibility, I have every confidence in the experience, judgement and energy she brings to the role.
“Strong communication and stakeholder engagement are fundamental to building trust and advancing our purpose, and I am confident she will continue strengthening these relationships while helping us demonstrate the positive impact of our business in Nigeria,” he said.
