The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.
themomentng reports that Idris took up the new role on the same day he retired from the civil service, April 24, 2026. Before his retirement, he served as Director of Procurement in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, a position he held from July 2021.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Idris has spent more than three decades working in the public sector. His experience covers administration, finance, and procurement management.
His career saw him rise through different roles within the system. In August 2019, he became Director of Common Services in charge of procurement before he was later moved to head the Department of Procurement in 2021. During his time in office, he handled procurement activities and ensured that due process and laid-down rules were followed.
Over the years, he has worked in several key areas and contributed to improving how administrative and procurement duties are carried out within the system.
The new appointment has already taken effect.
In other news, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Ulasi has expressed disappointment over the current state of the party.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise News on Thursday, he lamented that the PDP has a problem.
