MTN Uganda, through its mobile money platform MoMo, has partnered with Stabex International Limited to launch a new initiative aimed at accelerating digital payments among boda boda riders.

The “boda-boda win Kafuta” campaign was launched in Nansana as part of efforts to make everyday transactions more digital, accessible, and rewarding for riders across Uganda.

Through the partnership, riders can self-onboard as MoMoPay merchants, enabling them to accept cashless payments at no cost. In addition, participants will earn daily fuel rewards when they consistently use their merchant codes, helping to offset operational costs.

The initiative is also designed to enhance convenience for customers, offering seamless cashless payments, including free transactions below UGX 5,000 under the “Power of MoMo” campaign.

The campaign underscores a broader commitment by both companies to promote financial inclusion and support practical, technology-driven solutions tailored to Uganda’s informal workforce.

By simplifying access to digital payments and rewarding consistent usage, the initiative is expected to contribute to increased adoption of mobile money services and sustained growth in Uganda’s digital economy.
