Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly ready to launch a club-record €150 million bid for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise should he secure re-election this weekend.

According to reports from The Telegraph, the French international is the mystery player Perez has promised to pursue days after the weekend’s presidential vote, despite publicly denying that Olise was his target.

Perez, who is expected to defeat challenger Enrique Riquelme, told Spanish television that he would make an offer to a major Champions League club for a “great player” shortly after the election.

“I have some news for you,” Perez said on Horizonte.

“On Tuesday or so, I’m going to make an offer to a major Champions League club for a great player. It would be the largest transfer fee Real Madrid has ever paid in its history.”

The 79-year-old revealed the proposed deal would be worth around €150m and described the player as an attack-minded midfielder capable of driving forward, while ruling out several high-profile names.

Bayern Munich star, Michael Olise.

“Olise is a great player but it’s not Olise,” Perez said. “It’s not Doku either.

“We’re going to make a significant offer, at least around 150m.

“He needs to be a player from midfield who can go forward. And it’s not Haaland.

“The player is not from the Premier League. And the first thing we’ll do is talk to the club.

“It’s a signing meant to generate excitement because that’s what it’s all about, generating excitement.”

While Perez insisted neither Olise nor Jeremy Doku was the intended target, The Telegraph reports that the Bayern star is in fact the player being discussed behind the scenes.

Olise, 24, enjoyed an impressive campaign with Bayern Munich and is regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents. His performances have reportedly convinced Perez that he fits the profile of a new Galactico capable of energising supporters after a disappointing season.

The election campaign has centred heavily on transfers. Riquelme, a renewable energy businessman challenging Perez, had pledged to sign Erling Haaland if elected. That claim was swiftly dismissed by Manchester City, who reportedly warned of possible legal action over the statements.

Perez has also ruled out a move for Haaland, insisting his focus is elsewhere.

Real Madrid members will vote on Sunday to determine the club’s next president. Perez has held the position for most of the past 26 years and built his reputation through the famous Galacticos policy that brought stars such as Luis Figo, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane to the Santiago Bernabeu.

With Real Madrid finishing the 2025-26 season without a major trophy for a second consecutive year and trailing Barcelona in La Liga, Perez appears eager to reignite excitement among supporters with another blockbuster signing.

The veteran president also told voters that his re-election would activate previously agreed deals involving manager Jose Mourinho, Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries and Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate.
