Vodacom Tanzania Plc has partnered with the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC) to strengthen the digital capacity of cooperative societies across the country by donating laptops to support the commission’s operations.
According to Vodacom Tanzania, the initiative is aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving access to information, strengthening oversight, and supporting better service delivery within cooperatives that serve farmers and local communities.
The telecommunications company emphasized that digital transformation extends beyond technology itself and is most impactful when it enables institutions and individuals to achieve meaningful economic and social outcomes. Cooperative societies play a significant role in Tanzania’s agricultural economy, and improving their access to digital tools can contribute to stronger decision-making and operational effectiveness.
Vodacom noted that the laptops will help TCDC carry out its responsibilities more effectively across the country while supporting the development of more resilient cooperatives.
The company described the initiative as part of its broader commitment to digital inclusion, highlighting the importance of placing technology in the hands of organizations that contribute directly to economic growth and sustainable development.
The partnership reflects ongoing efforts to leverage digital solutions to strengthen Tanzania’s cooperative sector and support agricultural communities nationwide.
