Arise News has announced that political analyst Anthony Kila will no longer appear on its television network following allegations that he falsified his academic qualifications.

The television station said the decision followed an investigation by Premium Times into Kila’s educational credentials, which raised questions about the qualifications he had reportedly claimed to possess.

In a disclaimer issued by its editorial board, Arise News explained that Kila had appeared on its programmes several times as a freelance political analyst before the allegations became public.

The station maintained that it was unaware of the claims when it previously invited him to contribute to political discussions on its platform.

According to the statement, Arise News contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to the allegations contained in the investigative report.

He reportedly requested additional time to address the issues raised about his academic background.

The broadcaster said that 10 days after the initial contact, Kila had yet to provide a response, while further allegations concerning his credentials had emerged.

Arise News explained that the unresolved questions surrounding his qualifications had made it difficult to continue featuring him as a political commentator.

The editorial board stated:

“Arise News wishes to advise that Anthony Kila, who has appeared several times on this network as a free lance political analyst and has been the subject of a damning investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers, will no longer appear on the Arise News Channel.”

Addressing its efforts to obtain his explanation, the station added:

“Following claims that Anthony KILA falsified his entire academic credentials we contacted Mr KILA on 03 October, 2026 with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after- Instead the allegations have gotten worse. In the circumstances we find that his contributions to The Arise News Channel is no longer tenable.”

The broadcaster said its decision was informed by the importance it attached to the credibility of individuals appearing on its programmes.

It maintained that the allegations were not known to its management when Kila was previously invited to provide political analysis.

Arise News further announced that the decision would take immediate effect and would prevent Kila from appearing on its platforms in the future.

The statement continued

“Arise News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously. We have noted the findings of the Premium Times investigation and Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at anytime now or the future—effective immediately.”

The development follows the publication of the investigation questioning Kila’s academic background and the qualifications associated with his public profile.

Although the broadcaster has withdrawn his access to its programmes, the allegations concerning his academic credentials remain claims raised in the investigation rather than findings established by a court.

As indicated in the station’s statement, Kila had requested more time to respond when contacted about the allegations, but had not provided an explanation within the 10-day period mentioned by the broadcaster.

Arise News did not indicate whether it would reconsider its decision if Kila subsequently responded to the allegations.
