Former Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana and his family escaped unhurt after being involved in a three-vehicle collision in Turkey following Trabzonspor’s UEFA Conference League victory on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The accident occurred in the Yomra district of Trabzon as the Cameroonian international travelled home with his family after his team’s 2–0 victory over Scottish club Hearts at Papara Park.
According to reports from Turkey, another vehicle struck Onana’s car from behind, pushing it into a vehicle ahead and causing a chain-reaction collision involving three vehicles.
Photographs taken after the accident showed damage to the front of the goalkeeper’s vehicle, including its bumper and other components.
Despite the collision, Onana and his family members escaped without injuries. Reports confirmed that everyone travelling in his vehicle was in good health.
Trabzonspor officials reportedly arrived at the accident scene to assess the situation and check on the goalkeeper and his family.
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan subsequently confirmed that Onana was in good condition following the incident.
The accident occurred shortly after Trabzonspor secured their second consecutive victory in the UEFA Conference League, defeating Hearts 2–0 to maintain their winning start to the competition.
Onana, 30, joined Trabzonspor from Manchester United in 2025. The Cameroon international previously played for Ajax and Inter Milan before moving to the English Premier League.
