President Bola Tinubu has renewed his commitment to building a prosperous Nigeria, strengthening the economy and investing in the future of young people following his spiritual visit to Saudi Arabia, where he performed Umrah.
The President made the declaration on Monday while reflecting on what he described as a historic opportunity to enter the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah and offer prayers for Nigeria and its people.

According to Tinubu, the rare privilege was granted by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, allowing him and members of the Nigerian delegation to pray inside Islam’s sacred sanctuary.
The President, who was accompanied into the Ka’abah by Sheikh Dahlulah Muthawal of Masjid al-Haram, expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership for the honour and hospitality extended to his delegation.
He described the experience as spiritually significant and a reflection of the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Tinubu disclosed that he prayed for divine wisdom, strength and resilience to continue discharging his responsibilities as Nigeria’s President and commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
Recalling his previous pilgrimage before the 2023 presidential election, he said he had returned to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to lead the country.
The President also reflected on teachings from the Holy Qur’an, particularly Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26, which emphasizes that ultimate authority belongs to Allah.
He maintained that political power should be regarded as a temporary responsibility requiring humility, accountability and dedicated service to humanity.
Tinubu said the spiritual experience had further strengthened his determination to pursue national development and improve the living conditions of Nigerians.
“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country,” the President declared.
Speaking on the nation’s economic situation, Tinubu expressed confidence in his administration’s reform agenda, maintaining that Nigeria was gradually overcoming its economic difficulties.
He described the country’s economic foundation as strong and expressed optimism about future growth and development.
The President also stressed the importance of investing in young Nigerians, noting that the decisions taken by today’s leaders would determine the opportunities available to future generations.
He argued that sustainable national progress could only be achieved through deliberate policies that empower young people, expand economic opportunities and strengthen institutions.
Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to implementing programmes aimed at economic stability, youth development and improved living standards.
He further pledged to justify the confidence placed in his leadership through responsible governance and continued dedication to national progress.
Members of the Nigerian delegation, including Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ali Pate, and governors of Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara states, also participated in the spiritual visit.
Business leaders, including BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu and Oando Chief Executive Officer Wale Tinubu, were among those who reportedly accompanied the President.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in prayers at the holy site.
Tinubu maintained that his administration would remain focused on strengthening Nigeria’s economic foundations, creating opportunities for young citizens and advancing national development.
