Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting to have her killed.

Speaking to her supporters on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed that she had informed the Nigeria Police Force about the threat to her life.

During her homecoming, the suspended senator claimed that the effort to recall her was orchestrated by Akpabio, who allegedly promised Bello funding in exchange for his involvement.

She said, “On March 13 at 10:00 pm, just two days before that, Akpabio called Governor Ododo to begin my recall process, but Ododo told him it would be impossible. He explained that the people were with me. But Akpabio was not satisfied and called Yahaya Bello. I was informed about everything.

“The meeting had two parts – they told him to start the recall and that funds would be provided. The second part was that they instructed him to try and kill me. I didn’t make this public earlier, but I have reported it to the Inspector General of Police.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan continued, “Akpabio told Bello to make sure the killing doesn’t happen in Abuja, but in Kogi, so it would seem like the people were responsible for my death here.”
