17th Convocation: 114 students bag first class at Bells University

Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun, on Saturday said that, 114 students of the institution graduated with First Class Honours Degrees in the 2024/2025 academic session.

Ojediran said this during the 17th Convocation, Conferment of Honorary Degrees, Award of Higher Degrees and Diplomas, and presentation of prizes in Ota.

According to him, the 17th Convocation ceremony was unique in many ways, especially as it symbolised endurance, commitment, and growth over the years.

He explained that a total of 1,066 students comprising 272 postgraduates, 674 regular and special Direct Entry (Top Up) graduated in the 2024/2025 academic session.

“This comprised 114 students who made first class honours, 373 students with second class (Upper), 260 with second class (Lower) and 47 with third class.

“Miss Oduwaiye Ifeoluwa, from the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering, emerged the overall best student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.94,” Ojediran said.

The vice-chancellor congratulated the graduands and urged them to be agents of world changers as the seed of greatness has been planted in them.

Ojediran said the university was committed to strengthening and deepening visibility in the enrollment, research and webometric presence.

The VC commended his predecessors  Prof.Julius Okojie and Prof Isaac Adebayo, for laying solid foundation upon which his administration was building on to impart quality education.

According to him, the university had achieved a remarkable milestone and infrastructural development in the 20 years of its existence.

Also Speaking, Prof, Bart Nnaji, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of the university, said that all programmes of the institution have been fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Nnaji congratulated the former Vice-Chancellor of the university for Honorary award conferred on him by the institution.

He congratulated all the graduating students who have been found worthy in character and learning to be awarded the various degrees by the institution.

ThemomentNG reports that Prof. Adeyemi was conferred with the honourary degree by Bells University of Technology for his remarkable contributions to education.
