The Katsina State Government has ordered the immediate shutdown of all public schools across the state.
ThemomentNG reports that the directive on Friday followed fresh security threats in parts of Northern states.
According to the Commissioner of Education in the State, Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, confirmed this to journalists.
The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education also announced the immediate closure of all government schools.
The ministry called on parents, teachers, and the general public to obey this directive at once as officials continue to monitor the security situation to protect students and staff.
The government explained that closing the schools became necessary to avoid any threat to lives.
According to the statement, further updates will be shared if new actions need to be taken.
