A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, popularly known as KRAD, has pledged his support for the party’s chosen candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), following the conclusion of consultations on the 2026 governorship ticket.
Adegoke, in a statement, expressed appreciation to his supporters across the state and urged them to remain calm and focused, describing the development as a bend in the road, not an endpoint.
He revealed that the decision to settle on AMBO as the party’s flagbearer was communicated during a meeting convened by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where party leaders reviewed the factors guiding the final choice.
According to him, the President emphasised unity, discipline and collective progress within the party.
Adegoke also disclosed that he and other aspirants objected to the language of disqualification earlier used by the party, a position he said President Tinubu upheld by directing that the term be withdrawn.
The APC National Chairman, who attended the meeting, was said to have agreed that the disqualification should be removed from party records and future communications.
He added that all aspirants at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to peace and party cohesion.
Adegoke said he had personally congratulated AMBO and wished him well as the party’s candidate, stressing that the success of the APC in the 2026 election would depend on collective effort.
He thanked party members, community leaders, youth groups, women and supporters in Osogbo and across the state for their loyalty, assuring them that their contributions to the struggle are not lost.
Adegoke also commended President Tinubu for his leadership, and acknowledged the role of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, in the broader consultative process.
He reiterated his commitment to party unity, noting that the priority now is to work together for the success of the APC and the prosperity of Osun State.
