...as Eagles loss for the first time since 1981
After a disappointing 1-0 loss to Central African Republic at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos today in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier, the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club, ANFASSC has urged the team to put the defeat behind and turn things around.
A 90th minute goal by the Central Africans after a defensive mix up condemned the three time African Champions to their first home defeat in a world cup qualifier since October 10, 1981.
President of Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied sports supporters club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi has however charged the boys to focus on the bigger picture and make up for their mistakes.
He said “Nigerians are angry and it’s understandable, we were all expecting a victory, but then it’s Football and we have to take it that way”.
“The good thing is that we will face the same opponent again in the next few days, we should right our wrongs and get things right again”.
“With a spirited display right from the blast of the whistle in Cameroon, CAR should bow to the Super Eagles, they are beatable”.
The ANFASSC number one man said his team will continue to support the Super Eagles, he expressed optimism that the World Cup ticket will be secured, adding that the Authentic brand will storm Cameroon to cheer the Super Eagles against Central African Republic in the second leg.
