President Bola Ahmed Tinubu asked the Senate to ratify the appointments of seven new members to the country’s 12-member monetary policy council on Wednesday.

The Times reported that Polaris’ Non Executive Director, Aku Pauline Odinkemelu, was among the committee members that have were nominated.

The central bank will convene its first MPC meeting since July on February 26–27, less than two weeks from now, when the nominees are expected to be announced.

Aku Pauline’s remarkable 15-year career is proof of her dynamic leadership in a variety of sectors. Acting as an Independent Directorat at Klasha since July 2022, a Lagos and San Francisco-based startup, Aku plays a pivotal role in revolutionizing cross-border commerce.

Under her direction, Klasha has developed cutting-edge technologies that demonstrate a dedication to smooth transactions, particularly in the African market.

She completed her Executive Education at Harvard Business School in 2008 and went on to earn an Executive Master’s degree at IMD Business School in 2016. She also pursued a Dual Executive MBA at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

She graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Second Class Honours. Her involvement in societies and her 1986 title of Best Graduating Student demonstrate her adaptable style.

As of March 2022, Aku has expanded her experience outside of the tech sector to include the oil and gas industry. She holds the position of Non-Executive Director at Nordoil APS & Energy Services Limited.

As Director of Development since May 2021, Aku’s family firm, Meko Nigeria Ltd., has profited from her strategic perspectives.

From November 2009 until March 2012, Aku ensured compliance and risk reduction while working as a non-executive director at AXA Mansard Insurance, formerly GT Assurance Plc, in the financial services industry.

She started her diverse career at Access Bank Plc in February 2000 and worked her way up to become the regional head of marketing before becoming a Deputy General Manager in February 2004.

Beginning in December 1987 and ending in December 1993, Aku Pauline worked as a Legal Officer at Continental Merchant Bank, Plc, laying the groundwork for her extraordinary career.

In all of her varied roles, Aku has consistently demonstrated dedication to excellence, leadership, and social impact, marking her as a visionary leader shaping the landscape of various sectors.
