A 31-year-old Stephen Moses, was on Tuesday, arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly defrauding his boss to the tune of N583, 600.
Moses, whose address was not provided, was charged with obtaining money under false pretence, stealing and threat to life.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 9, at about 8.00 p.m, at Ologuneru area of Ibadan.
Folaranmi alleged that the defendant obtained the sum of N583, 600 from the customers of his boss, Mrs Theresa Iwhewhe, without her consent.
He alleged that the defendant converted the money to his personal use and also threatened to kill his boss, the complainant, without any reasonable grounds.
He said the offences contravened Sections 419, 390(9) and 86 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
She held that one of the sureties must be a close relation of the defendant.
He adjourned the case until Feb.4, 2026, for hearing.
