Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s foremost brewery company, is consolidating its leadership in the Nigerian brewery industry, maintaining the number one position in the lager and malt categories and number two in the stout category.
The Managing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Thibaut Boidin, disclosed this during the company’s 80th Pre-Annual General Meeting media briefing held at Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Speaking further at the occasion, Biodin noted that the company remains committed to growing market share in these categories to consolidate its leadership in the 2026 financial year.
Acknowledging the growing competition in the industry, he stressed that the company would continue to reinvent itself by introducing innovations that would not only drive volume but also improve profitability.
He explained that the leadership status recorded by these brands was influenced by increased distribution in the right outlets and smart price-pack play in the relevant channels. He assured consumers that the company would continue to execute relevant marketing campaigns that would not only excite consumers but also resonate with them.
Disclosing that the company would continue to leverage platforms associated with these brands as well as various passion points to connect with consumers, he said, “We are elevating consumer experiences through premium activations built around relevant passion points-football, fashion, and high-energy events.”
He stated that the successful acquisition and integration of Distel Wines and Spirits Nigeria, which aligns with the company’s Beyond Beer strategy, is part of a broader strategic move to expand its portfolio and strengthen its market presence in Nigeria.
According to him, the process, which includes aligning operational processes, harmonizing corporate cultures, and optimizing the distribution network, is expected to drive significant growth and innovation, positioning it as a leading player across the beverage industry’s different categories.
