England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the German champions until June 2029, extending his stay following an outstanding spell that has established him among Europe’s most prolific goalscorers.
The 33-year-old striker confirmed the agreement on Thursday, November 5, 2026, ending speculation about his future and reinforcing Bayern’s determination to retain their leading forward. The extension follows Kane’s historic Ballon d’Or victory in October, when he became the first Englishman to win the prestigious award since Michael Owen in 2001
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has since scored 156 goals in 161 appearances across all competitions. His remarkable consistency has helped the Bavarian club secure two Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and two German Super Cups.
The England international said he was delighted to continue his career in Munich, where he has developed a strong relationship with his teammates and manager Vincent Kompany. He also praised the club’s supporters and expressed satisfaction with the environment his family has enjoyed since moving to Germany.
Kane said he remained ambitious about winning more major honours, particularly the UEFA Champions League. The striker believes Bayern possess the quality and leadership required to compete for Europe’s biggest club trophy in the coming seasons.
The new agreement is also expected to make Kane one of Bayern’s highest-paid players, with reports suggesting an annual gross salary of at least €25 million, approximately £20.9 million. The club has not publicly disclosed the financial terms of the contract.
Kane’s achievements in Germany include three consecutive Bundesliga top-scorer awards and two European Golden Shoes. He scored 73 goals for club and country last season, including six during England’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
His international career has also continued to flourish, with the striker equalling Peter Shilton’s England appearance record of 125 caps in October. He will have an opportunity to surpass that milestone during England’s forthcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
The contract extension significantly reduces the prospect of an imminent return to the Premier League, where Kane remains among the competition’s greatest goalscorers. With his immediate future settled, the England captain will now focus on helping Bayern defend their domestic honours and pursue further European success.
